Travel Easel for en plein air work
Artwork Essentials is my favorite travel/plein air easel.
Knives
I recommend round shouldered trowel types.
Painting Surface
I recommend painting on panels - the surface is wonderfully smooth. Size and number: two (2) 9x12, (2) 11x14 and two (2) 12x16. These can be canvas, linen, panels - whatever you're comfortable with. They make some new surface type economy panels I like too. Each class may vary as to what you'll need, be sure to review.
Other Useful Items
Viva Brand paper towels & Q-tips
You will need a watertight solvent container-get the best you can. Tim likes Holbein's container—look for a well constructed one with good rubber seals and locks, and it will last a lifetime.
